Dr. Douglas Pacaccio, DPM, is a provider at OrthoIllinois, a division of OrthoMidwest, with a lifelong passion for biology and biomechanics. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign, where he earned degrees in Biology and Philosophy with a concentration in Ethics. Dr. Pacaccio went on to attend Rosalind Franklin University / Chicago Medical School, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. Following medical school, Dr. Pacaccio completed his residency training at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, a level 1 trauma center, where he refined his expertise in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery. He further advanced his skills in extremity reconstruction and diabetic limb salvage/ plastic surgery at Georgetown University Medical Center. Dr. Pacaccio specializes in custom printed solutions for critical size defects, total ankle replacement, reconstructive forefoot and ankle surgery, surgical repair of peripheral nerve disorders, diabetic Charcot reconstruction, external fixation for deformity correction, orthopedic traumatology, limb salvage, and the application of regenerative medicine techniques. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Pacaccio served on the Board of Directors and was a founding member of MedShape, Inc., an Atlanta-based medical device company. He holds several orthopedic device patents and has served as past president of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association as well as served on multiple hospital committees.
